 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up tempting Jesus,

and saying:

Teacher, having done what, shall I inherit life eternal?

And he said to him: What is written in the law? how readest thou? *

But he answering said:

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God

with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thine understanding;

and thy neighbour as thyself.

And he said to him:

Thou hast answered right:

this do and thou shalt live.

(Luke 10:25-28)

* "And ye shall observe my statutes and my judgments, by which the man that doeth them shall live: I am Jehovah." (Leviticus 18:5)

 We reckon that a man is justified by faith,

without works of law.

of works of law

are under curse.
